Quantised Angular Momentum Vectors and Projection Angle Distributions for Discrete Radon Transformations

چکیده
A quantummechanics based method is presented to generate sets of digital angles that may be well suited to describe projections on discrete grids. The resulting angle sets are an alternative to those derived using the Farey fractions from number theory. The Farey angles arise naturally through the definitions of the Mojette and Finite Radon Transforms. Often a subset of the Farey angles needs to be selected when reconstructing images from a limited number of views. The digital angles that result from the quantisation of angular momentum (QAM) vectors may provide an alternative way to select angle subsets. This paper seeks first to identify the important properties of digital angles sets and second to demonstrate that the QAM vectors are indeed a candidate set that fulfils these requirements. Of particular note is the rare occurrence of degeneracy in the QAM angles, particularly for the half-integral angular momenta angle sets.

Measuring two-photon orbital angular momentum entanglement
We put forward an approach to estimate the amount of bipartite spatial entanglement of down-converted photon states correlated in orbital angular momentum and the magnitude of the transverse radial wave vectors. Both degrees of freedom are properly considered in our framework, which only requires azimuthal local linear optical transformations and mode selection analysis with two fiber detectors...
متن کاملA Realistic Formalism for 4 N Bound State in a Three - Dimensional Yakubovsky Scheme
A spin-isospin dependent Three-Dimensional formalism based on the momentum vectors for the four-nucleon bound state is presented. The four-nucleon Yakubovsky equations with twoand three-nucleon interactions are formulated as a function of the vector Jacobi momenta. Our formalism, according to the number of spin-isospin states that one takes into account, leads to only a strictly finite number o...

Introduction CR-39 detectors are widely used for Radon and progeny measurement in the air. In this paper, using the Monte Carlo simulation, the possibility of using the CR-39 for direct measurement of Radon and progeny in water is investigated. Materials and Methods Assuming the random position and angle of alpha particle emitted by Radon and progeny, alpha energy and angular spectrum that arri...
متن کاملThe Angular Momentum of Gas in Proto-galaxies: I – Implications for the Formation of Disk Galaxies
We use non-radiative N-body/SPH simulations of structure formation in a ΛCDM cosmology to compare the angular momentum distributions of dark matter and gas in a large sample of halos. We show that the two components have identical spin parameter distributions and that their angular momentum distributions within individual halos are very similar, all in excellent agreement with standard assumpti...
متن کاملProjection pursuit for discrete data
Abstract: This paper develops projection pursuit for discrete data using the discrete Radon transform. Discrete projection pursuit is presented as an exploratory method for finding informative low dimensional views of data such as binary vectors, rankings, phylogenetic trees or graphs. We show that for most data sets, most projections are close to uniform. Thus, informative summaries are ones d...
